United Rentals has the air tools you need. Air equipment like air drills and air hammers are ideal for construction or demo jobs. Our general air tools are designed to reduce air consumption without reducing power, so you can run multiple tools with one compressor unit. United Rentals' full inventory of air tools includes air backfill tampers, air chipping guns/chipping hammers, air pavement breakers of multiple power levels, air rivet busters, air rock drills of various drilling, and blowing power levels for demolition work. Complete your cutting, finishing and surface preparation with finish air nailers, air staplers, clay diggers, grinders, saws and more.
What does CFM stand for?
CFM stands for cubic feet per minute. CFM is a rating for how much air a tool needs to operate without performance drop. Without an adequate volume of air supply, or CFM of air, the tool will spin, hit, or run with less force or speed.
How much CFM do I need?
The CFM need greatly depends on the air compressor and the air tool. On average, you need 1 CFM per square foot (1 CFM/sq. ft.) of floor area.
What's the difference between CFM and SCFM?
SCFM stands for standard cubic feet per minute. SCFM is the volumetric flow rate against a standard, whereas there’s no standard for CFM.
