The tractor size you need depends on the type of project, the size of the land and the type of terrain. For projects in smaller areas (typically 5 acres or less), compact tractors will do the trick. Projects in larger areas needing higher payloads require larger tractors with higher horsepower, such as utility tractors. If you are farming tall crops, high-clearance tractors are necessary to avoid crop damage. Ask your local United Rentals representative what size and type of tractor will work best for your project.
PTO, or power take-off, is a shaft located on a tractor that connects to the drive shaft of another machine, such as a loader, tiller, rotary cutter or mower. The PTO shaft allows the attached machine to be powered by the tractor’s engine.
Many attachments are compatible with our farm tractor rentals, including front-end loader buckets, front mount sweepers, skid cutters, rotary tillers, fertilizer spreaders, heavy hitches, disc mowers and other earthmoving attachments. Ask your local United Rentals representative about specific attachments that are compatible with your tractor rental.
