Saw cuts are made in concrete to help create control joints. These control joints help prevent concrete from cracking due to shrinkage.
The miter tool is not ideal for cutting metal as it will need to run about two-thirds faster than a metal saw, which creates such a high level of friction that the tool will become red-hot to the touch.
