FAQs About Bulldozers
United Rentals carries a comprehensive inventory of bulldozers for rent that are perfect for heavy-duty earthmoving projects. Our bulldozer rentals come in a variety of sizes to meet your project’s specific needs, with operating weights ranging from 16,000 to 40,000 pounds and robust diesel engines ranging from 68 to 175 horsepower. We also carry low ground pressure (LGP) bulldozers that have wider tracks to help distribute their weight and perform better on steep, soft or muddy terrain. Rent our bulldozers for days, weeks or months for your next project involving roadbuilding, construction, mining, land clearing or other earthmoving applications. United Rentals’ bulldozers are manufactured by reliable brands such as CASE and John Deere.

A bulldozer can remove tree stumps depending on the size of the stump and the type of soil. However, a bulldozer may not be the ideal tool for the job because it could have trouble removing the tree roots or could damage the surrounding soil. Other equipment such as a backhoe loader or an excavator may be more effective at removing tree stumps without damaging the surrounding environment.
The operating weights of our bulldozer rentals range from 16,000 pounds to 40,000 pounds. This measurement indicates the weight of the machine when it’s in use, including the operator, fuel and any attachments.
The size bulldozer you need will depend on the type and size of your project. Smaller, more mobile bulldozers under 100 horsepower are ideal for light-duty residential projects, such as leveling a yard, building a driveway or hobby farming. Medium-sized bulldozers with up to 200 horsepower are ideal for medium-duty construction projects, including clearing land, plowing snow or moving materials. Large bulldozers with up to 850 horsepower are ideal for heavy-duty projects like major land moving or land clearing.
