FAQs About Load Banks
Load banks test, optimize and maintain a variety of electrical power sources like generators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to ensure optimal performance if ever needed. Rent load banks of all kinds, from compact, portable models ideal for testing smaller, jobsite UPS to large, networkable units for commercial and industrial uses. Choose between resistive, capacitive, reactive and resistive/reactive load banks to find the perfect load bank rental for the job. We carry top manufacturers like Avtron, ASCO, Trystar, LBD and more to ensure you get the highest quality equipment for your next project. A load bank with a capacity equal to or greater than the rated output of the power source you are testing is recommended.
The most common types of load banks are resistive load banks, inductive load banks, capacitive load banks and resistive/reactive load banks.
A good rule of thumb is that if a generator has not been used at more than 30% of its rated load, you should have it load tested before use. Load testing the generator ensures it will produce power as required and in emergencies.
