Spot coolers pull in the existing air and send it through a closed-loop coil. The air is then cooled, dehumidified and sent out into your immediate area.
Spot coolers provide targeted cooling, often through a window, door or ceiling panel. Spot coolers contain a condensation tank, which houses the excess fluid from the cooling effort. Portable ACs, though similar, allow for a more expansive cooling effort. Portable ACs filter the condensation through the hose connected to the exit point.
While a window isn’t mandatory for cooling, an exit point to vent out the hot air is. Every room has an exit point, so if a window isn’t available, a door can work to push hot air from the area.
