What is a MEWP?

A mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) is the same as an aerial work platform. Recently, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reclassified all aerial work platforms to be called mobile elevated work platforms. They are still the same equipment, yet safety standards are applied more broadly across all MEWPs.

How high can a cherry picker reach?

The maximum height of cherry pickers varies by make and model. We offer a variety of cherry pickers for a range of jobs, from 40 feet for standard maintenance or repair to 185 feet for extreme aerial work on commercial buildings or bridges.

Do you need a license to operate a cherry picker?

Yes, OSHA requires all cherry picker or scissor lift operators to be trained and certified before operating a lift. Operating mobile elevated work platforms can lead to falls, trips or other hazards. Therefore, every cherry picker operator needs to know how to complete basic functions, inspect the equipment and use the controls.
