How do you clean a fuel tank?

To properly clean a fuel tank, the internal portion of the tank must be flushed out using steam or hot water. Once this is done, it should be thoroughly rinsed with high-pressure compressed air — usually about 15 to 20 PSI — to remove any remaining fine particles. Afterward, all tanks and equipment need to be tested for leaks. If there are no leaks, the equipment is considered fully cleaned and ready for refilling.
