FAQs
What are shipping containers made of?

Shipping containers are usually made from durable Corten steel, which is known for being weldable and rust resistant. Some containers are constructed from aluminum; however steel containers are generally more durable.

How tall is a shipping container?

Standard shipping containers are 8’6” in height while taller “high-cube” shipping containers are 9’6” tall for added space and better air circulation. Learn more about shipping container sizes and dimensions in our Project Uptime article.

How can I prepare my site for a storage container?

First and foremost, ensure the site is level and solid, like a concrete, gravel or stone-paved surface. We also recommend clearing the drop-off area of all obstructions, such as vegetation, overhead tree branches, debris and other obstacles. There will need to be enough clear space for the truck or other vehicle to drop off your shipping container. If you intend to hook your container to a water or electric source, parking it near these sources is also something to consider.
