FAQs about Ground-Level Offices
United Rentals Storage Containers & Mobile Offices can modify or customize your storage container office with additions like roll-up doors, turbines, overhead lighting and more. These converted ground-level office containers can be transported by forklift and are leveled on the ground for increased stability and safety for your project. By adding hookups to your mobile office, electrical outlets or even finished restrooms can be added to fit the needs of your jobsite. For more information on rebuilding after a natural disaster, read our Project Uptime article, How Storage Containers and Mobile Offices can Help Rebuild After Disaster.

GLO stands for ground-level office. GLOs are modified from our standard storage container, creating a portable office. Since GLOs are delivered and set level to the ground, stairs, blocking and anchors are not needed, which allows for quick setup and ease of access. GLOs are designed to meet the customer’s jobsite needs and come in a variety of combinations. Though regional differences in models may exist, common types are: 20’ all office, 20’ office/storage combo, 40’ all office, 40’ office/storage combo and 40’ double office.
Our GLOs come standard with HVAC units, lighting, electrical hookup and outlets, data ports, sliding windows with screens and steel bar window security guards, steel security doors with deadbolts, built-in work surfaces and file cabinets, planning space, finished floors and insulated walls. GLOs with a restroom are available in select locations.
