Hydraulic breakers are also commonly referred to as hydraulic hammers. Although they may be called different things, these attachments are essentially the same. Our breaker attachments can fit on excavators, mini excavators, backhoes or skid steers. When choosing a hydraulic hammer remember that heavier attachments have larger impact rates and can break stronger or thicker materials.
Hydraulic breakers function similarly to jackhammers. These breaker attachments are powered by a hydraulic piston that consistently pushes the hammer's head into the surface with powerful force.
Breakers for excavators and mini excavators are used for concrete demolition or to break ground during jobsite preparation. Skid steer jackhammers are better suited for tight spaces but are also designed to break concrete.
Proper use and handling of breaker attachments depends on equipment type and jobsite specifications. Operator skill is key to longevity and effectiveness of hydraulic breakers.
