Bulk liquid storage tanks can handle various types of liquids in nearly any application.
Bulk liquid storage tanks can handle various types of liquids in nearly any application. We’ve covered this in our article, "Capacity of liquid storage tanks” and we’ve also covered the most common uses for bulk liquid storage tanks. Now let’s look at some differences in the types of above-ground storage tanks.
Based on the application we can identify multiple differences in our storage-tank offering. High-over we identify a Specialty / Industrial and (a new) Basic line. Our specialty industrial line tanks are executed in 30 m³ and 70 m³ which are also available in our lined (coated) version for hazardous liquids. Within our 30 m³ industrial line we also have a poly-line available for chemical liquids. The whole industrial tank-line is executed with the highest Industrial safety standards and features.
Next to our Specialty / Industrial line we now also have a basic 35 m³ tank-line, designed for constructional projects. Again designed with unique features in relation to the needs of the construction market. With additional options we can transform this tank from a basic-storage facility for non-hazardous liquids into a filtration system.
70 m³ Storage tank
Our 70 m³ V-bottom tanks are great for liquid storage. They are easy to drain and include stairs with fixed handrails and landings. Dimensions for a Baker tank are:
- Capacity: 70,000 litres or 70,000 kg
- Dimensions (service): 3,810 mm x 2,505 mm x 12,728 mm (H x W x L)
- Weight: 12,000 kg, empty (approx.)
These are heavy-duty tanks equipped with 0.25-inch plates. We have both smooth-wall tanks and corrugated-wall tanks.
30 m³ Storage tank
Our 30 m³ storage tank with sloping (straight) bottom (sloped) are perfect for liquid storage with maximum safety. These are also easy to drain and include stairs with fixed handrails and landings. Dimensions for the 30 m³ storage tank are:
- Capacity: 31,000 litres (nominal) and 29,500 litres (95 % filling capacity) or 31,000 kg
- Dimensions (service): 3,581 mm x 2,550 mm x 7,450 mm (H x W x L)
- Weight: 7,700 kg, empty (approx.)
35 m³ Storage tank
The newest storage tank in our fleet is the 35 m³ storage tank with a flat bottom and open top. It is a versatile basic tank ideally suited for construction projects where temporary containment of non-hazardous liquids is required. The dimensions for the 35 m³ storage tank are:
- Capacity: 35,400 litres or 63,720 kg
- Dimensions (service): 2,200 mm x 2,300 mm x 7,000 mm (H x W x L)
- Weight: 3,600 kg empty (approx.)
The difference between Fixed-Axle and Roll-off tanks
All our tanks are easy to transport: our 70 m³ tanks are executed with fixed axle and will be transported with our trucks. Our 30 m³ and 35 m³ tanks are executed with roll-on-roll off system with a hook-arm system, easy to manoeuvre when available space is a challenge. Based on the type of project or application and the type of liquid we always have a fitted solution when it comes to storage of liquids.
External Manifold
An external manifold can be placed in front of the tank(s) as a separate and optional item. This makes the manifold easier to access because it is on the front of the liquid storage tank and positioned away from the tank. You can attach hoses and valves to the external manifolds, making it easier to connect multiple tanks and creating an even larger storage capacity by combining multiple tanks and its volume. Additional filling and extraction points can be created when the actual connection-points on the tank are insufficient.
