Challenge
Our client was faced with a significant wastewater management challenge. They had a sump containing 1000 m³ of wastewater with a pH level between 5 and 6. To meet regulatory requirements, they needed to pump the wastewater and correct the pH level to a range of 7 to 9. After conducting chemical tests using 32% NaOH, they determined that a dose rate of 40 liters per every 50 m³ of wastewater was necessary.
Solution
To address this challenge, we provided a comprehensive and automated solution. We supplied an Electrical 4” Pump (E4LH-CI) for efficient over-pumping, ensuring a smooth flow of the wastewater. To handle the chemical dosing with precision, we integrated a Chemical Dosing Cabinet (CD-CAB) and a Dosing Case – Caustic (DC-CAUS), specifically designed for caustic substances. To maintain accurate dosing and monitor the process, a Flow Meter and pH sensor (PH&F) were included in the setup.
Benefits
The implementation of this solution delivered numerous benefits. It provided a full turnkey, automated system that required minimal manual intervention, ensuring consistent and reliable pH correction. By treating the wastewater on-site, the client avoided the heavy costs associated with off-site disposal. Our plug-and-play system was designed with chemical safety in mind, offering a safe and efficient solution for managing caustic chemicals. The client now enjoys a streamlined, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible wastewater management process.
