Hybrid Energy System with Battery Packs

Challenge:

• For bigger site compounds, often the pass through amps of 150Amp is not sufficient to run the site, this customer reached out to United Rentals needing local power supply, which would be a much bigger project to operate than standard. 
• The peak load will be 125A, with as little as possible disturbance to the environment. 
• Low noise levels were required during the night.

Solution: 

• United Rentals supplied a Battery Pack, Generator and Distribution Panel.
• The generator and distribution panel A operate the full site throughout the day, then, at a specified time, the generator will shut down and switch to the Battery Pack.
• The Battery Pack will supply distribution board B, which will be a much lighter load and, if controlled correctly, reduce the generator overall running time.
• The Battery Pack will supply silent power during the night for the offices.

• This solution drastically reduces the amount of CO2 and NOx levels being released to the environment, and reduces the sound levels to virtually zero.
