Advanced Rigging

Designed for participants that have had some exposure (2+ years) to crane and rigging operations. The course exposes participants to a variety of equipment and advanced load handling applications and challenges.

  • Determine load distribution on various lifting systems
  • Successfully determine tensions to chain falls and come-a-longs
  • Understand the theory behind successful drifting operations
  • Plan a controlled load turn
  • Determine weight transfer
  • Understand the theory behind load up-righting and turning
  • Determine load to winches, jacks, rollers, and floors during special load handling activities
  • Understand the theory required to successfully move loads horizontally
  • Determine the load to rigging blocks
  • Understand the mechanical advantage necessary to move a load vertically/horizontally
  • Calculate sling tensions for off-level pick points
