United Rentals completed the acquisition of Able Equipment Rental, Inc. in February 2023.
United Rentals announced the completed acquisition of General Finance Corporation on May 25, 2021. The acquisition of General Finance had strong strategic and financial merits, expanding growth capacity with the addition of mobile storage and modular office solutions. General Finance brands include: Pac Van, Container King, Southern Frac LLC, Lone Star Tank Rental Inc and Royal Wolf
United Rentals acquired Franklin Equipment, LLC, a Midwest and Southeast regional provider of equipment rentals, sales and related services on April 14, 2021. Frankling Equipment was founded in 2008 and grew to 20 locations.
United Rentals announed the acquisition of WesternOne Rentals & Sales, a regional rental provider in Western Canada, on November 30, 2018. The acquisition deepened the United Rentals presence in key Canadian markets.
United Rentals completed the acquisition of BlueLine on October 31, 2018. The acquisition expanded the equipment rental capacity in many large metropolitan areas of North America.
United Rentals completed the acquisition of BakerCorp, a leading provider of tank, pump, filtration and shoring rental solutions, on July 31, 2018. The acquisition expanded the United Rentals footprint into the European market.
United Rentals announced the acquisition of assets from Industrial Rental Services, LLC, a leading provider of two-way radio solutions and industrial blinds. The acquisition expanded the Tool Solutions specialty division.
United Rentals acquired power equipment assets and primary mobile rental generator assets from Cummins, Inc. on August 22, 2017. Cummins is a global leader in power generation products and will continue to manufacture, service and support new power generation equipment for rental markets.
United Rentals acquired Neff Corporation, one of the largest equipment rental companies in the United States.
United Rentals completed the acquisition of NES Rentals on April 3, 2017. The acquisition increased the density in strategic markets and strengthened relationships among customers in the construction and industrial sectors
