Depending on the size and capacity of your equipment rental, you may be required to purchase insurance for equipment such as large excavators, wheel loaders, trucks and others. The estimated rental cost may not include insurance fees. Once you pay the fee, however, United Rentals can handle insurance requirements. Hauling heavy equipment may require additional permits and restrictions for delivery. For example, we can only transport equipment in daylight, and in certain metro areas, we cannot travel between 7 and 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Further, we cannot deliver equipment in the rain, and we must follow specific routes to ensure we do not exceed the weight or height capacities on bridges or overpasses. A United Rentals representative will confirm these requirements before delivery.
United Rentals Heavy Equipment delivers your equipment as soon as we can. Most of our rental equipment requires additional considerations when hauling to the worksite. Depending on the weight of the equipment, we may have to haul one piece at a time, and a permit may be required to transport by truck. These additional requirements may cause a delay due to weather or route restrictions. Our experienced drivers and equipment specialists will give you the details and confirm your delivery date.
