The Confined Spaces in Construction Train the Trainer course prepares safety professionals to confidently deliver competent person training using United Rentals’ cloud-based program. This approximately 1.5-day course ensures participants master both the technical content and instructional delivery needed to train effective competent persons. Through an in-depth review of applicable 1926 Subpart AA OSHA standards, the use of interactive 2D simulations, supporting safety concepts, and critical topics such as proper atmospheric testing, acceptable air exchanges per hour, purge times when ventilating a space, and hazard identification protocols, trainers gain expertise to help competent persons make informed classification and safe entry decisions.
Upon successful completion, qualified instructors will be ready to facilitate engaging, trusted, and compliant confined space safety training. The instructor training tools include program lesson files, an Instructor Kit, and interactive learning activities that help learners apply confined space safety concepts. A mobile app extends learning beyond the classroom with field resources, including a ventilation calculator, to support the transfer of knowledge to the jobsite.
