United Rentals, Inc. and United Rentals (North America), Inc. (collectively “United Rentals” or the “Company”) is committed to transparency in its use of artificial intelligence technology and tools. This notice is provided to inform you that, unless you opt out, the Company uses artificial intelligence (“AI Tools”) in connection with certain employment-related processes, as described below.
What AI Tools We Use.
The Company uses Workday’s HiredScore AI Tools to assist in analyzing, sorting and ranking applications and resumes submitted for employment positions compared against the required and preferred requirements and qualifications and location for the applicable employment position.
How AI Tools Are Used.
AI Tools are used to make the application and resume review process more efficient, not replace, human decision-making. One or more human reviewers participate in the review of the application and/or resume after the sorting and ranking process has occurred, and one or more human reviewers make any employment decision.

Bias Auditing and Nondiscrimination.
The Company is committed to ensuring that AI Tools do not result in unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law. The Company periodically reviews and audits the AI Tools used to assess their impact and ensure compliance with applicable nondiscrimination requirements.
