Docked Vessel: Storage of grey water
Challenge:
A vessel with crew still on board began a period of prolonged docking due to the Covid-19 crisis. As they were due to be docked for longer than planned this meant that there was an increased demand for the processing of marpol waste. The challenge was to provide our customer with additional storage capacity for the waste lasting the duration of being berthed at the Port.
Solution:
BakerCorp designed and delivered a solution that consisted of:
- 2x 70 m³ lined tanks that provided a total storage capacity of 140 m³
- Couplings that were installed and provided by BakerCorp, to enable our customers vacuum to decant waste for re-processing efficiently
Benefits:
Thanks to the BakerCorp solution, our customer benefited from great flexibility on when the waste would be collected and reprocessed, meaning they had more control over the costs involved for disposal. Marpol waste could be processed efficiently as BakerCorp provided additional dockside capacity, and our customers tankers were free to service more clients.
