Containerised Solutions
Royal Wolf takes the coffee break to next level
The Project
Royal Wolf delivered a fully modified 20-foot container café for The Lot by Maurice’s, transforming it into a functional, modern space that meets Australian food and safety standards.
Summary
The Lot by Maurice’s wanted to turn their café concept into a practical, operational space within a container. Our engineers and project team worked alongside the client to modify the container, installing benches, lighting, wall coverings, fire safety features, and stainless-steel surfaces, while ensuring full compliance with food and safety regulations. The result is a stylish, functional café that includes dine-in tables and an interior that feels far from a standard container.
Challenge
The client needed a single 20-foot container transformed into a fully functional café, complete with benches, lighting, wall coverings, and fire safety upgrades, while meeting all Australian food and safety standards for design, construction, and fit-out.
Solution
Royal Wolf engineers worked with The Lot by Maurice’s to modify the container into a cafe, which includes dine-in tables. They also ensured it complies with Australian food and safety regulations, including installing efficient door handles in case of fire.
“They had an architect, but the drawings weren’t in the right dimensions for the container, so we had our engineers, our project manager and one of the draftsmen involved as well, and turned the architect’s concept into an idea that is actually practical,” says Amy Millard, Royal Wolf Business Development Manager.
