A hydraulic strut is consist of a base hydraulic ram unit on one end that is coupled with bolt-on modular extension pieces to achieve the required span. Primary advantages of the system include rapid installation capabilities and minimal labor efforts needed when comparing to traditional fabricated steel shoring systems.  These modular format hydraulic struts combine the compressive strength of steel tube with the convenience of hydraulic actuation for length adjustment and pre-loading potential. Swivel end bearing plates and various other end connections allow for limitless strutting configurations within an excavation, with or without waler beams.
