Peak Shaving with Battery Packs

Challenge:

• Peak shaving is a way of using more power than you may have available from either a generator or mains power supply. This customer reached out to United Rentals needing a peak shaving solution from their mains power supply to power three 4" electric pumps. 
• This customer had a limited mains supply which was unable to power the pumps on start up, but can run the pumps once they are started. 
• This customer also needs to ensure compliance to local regulations in respect of noise level and emission.

Solution: 

• United Rentals supplied a Battery Pack, Distribution Panel and three 4" Electric Pumps. 
• The Battery Pack will supply the extra power needed to start the motors on the 4" electric pumps. 
• The distribution panel, 125A, will ensure the required connections are met.
